John’s house on Brisbane’s northside has had a leak for over twelve months that causes water to come into the lower level of the house every time it rains. Over time, his property manager sent several trades (incorrectly) to investigate, costing him approximately $2,000 along the way.
And yet the leak remained.
His previous tenants gave notice and demanded compensation and free rent that ran into the thousands. The property was then re-let, costing John a reletting fee. He has been reluctant to increase the rent in line with rising interest rates due to the issue.

It’s just a shame John didn’t switch sooner and he could’ve had that wasted $2,000 back in his pocket…where it belongs!
